Re: TSI 170 Aceleration hesitation
You sure that's not just turbo lag? Diesels have never been the most responsive anyway. Any more details you can give?

Re: Tram lining??
Perfectly normal, mine does it on a few A/B roads I travel. The torque steer is amplified by the unevenly worn road surface. On newer roads and motorways I can pull out and boot it no problems.

Sawtooth Tyre Wear
Hi all, I'm currently enduring the Sawtooth issue with the rear tyres and was wondering if anyone had any info on tyres to buy/avoid in relation to the problem? I've got Continental Sport Contact 5's on the rear at the mo and they do it, but the Sport Contact 2's before didn't. I'm told Dunlop are t...

Re: Useless aircon
They put some UV dye in the system and did a full scan for leaks but found nothing. There was 650 grams of coolant in the system and it should hold 850. It seems that when it gets below 80% coolant the compressor can't run the system. They asked me to pop the car back in a few weeks so they can run ...

Re: Useless aircon
All sorted. It had just run out of gas. No leaks. Ice cold now. Will make a point thought of leaving it running for 5 mins at least cos often in winter when window mists up I just flick on and off again.

Mine had been making whining noise periodically for a while but nothing that really raised the alarm. Booked in for Friday.

Re: Oh, decisions, decisions! Please choose my car
I'd go for the bottom one assuming it's just had it's 20k service. The middle one's more miles and more price. Unless you want to fork out for the lowest mileage one but bearing in mind the durability of VWs diesel engines you're not missing out on much going fora higher mileage one.

Re: Useless aircon
Lol! I bet it was. I'd just got out of the gym too and was very hot. Typical. I'm going to get it booked in to check for leaks.
Thanks

Useless aircon
Hi all, Tried using my air con today and quite frankly the air coming out isn't very cold. Switching it on and off with the blower running doesn't actually make a noticable difference. The car is two years old now but is air con on VW's normally that useless after just 2 years or does it sound like ...

Definately the wipers. Changing them has worked in the past but only for a while. The tapping does stop when the wipers are on.

Tapping wiperblades
Hi all, Been having a total nightmare with the wiperblades tapping. Have gone through two sets of Bosch Aerotwins now and they both do it after 6 months and just bought an own brand alternative from Autobulbs Direct and it does it as soon as you fit them. Before I take it back to VW is there anythin...

This seems fairly trustworthy. I'm due a service in 2000 miles so I'll ask the tech.

Re: Fuel cleaner (Redex, Powerenhancer BG244 etc)
Cheers for the link Keith, that one didn't show up on Google. The BG244 is the one that claims to be used in dealer servicing and seems to have a lot of facts backing it up. I'm sure none of them work overnight but there must be one out there that's better than just using the odd tank of V-Power (wh...

Fuel cleaner (Redex, Powerenhancer BG244 etc)
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with fuel system cleaners. Alot of people have told me that some German car manufacturers use them as part of the service proceedure. Heading for 20,000 miles now and was thinking she deserves a treat.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Re: Bird Pooh
They're all nesting and breeding this time of year so very active at the moment. I've got a blackbird nest in my driveway hedge and they keep pooing over car on the way out. It'll calm down soon once the cats get on top of the situation.

Re: ACC Anyone actually notice the difference?
This thread has actually inspired me to play around with the ACC modes alot more. And although when I first got the car I couldn't tell the difference I now can. When going 90 degree turns into residential streets etc the front corner does lollop down and go squishy in comfort. But I have to say eve...
