Hi All When I thought my day couldn't get worse it did...managed to scuff my wheel on a car park kerb. After ridiculous amounts of swearing and still generally being annoyed with myself, I thought plenty of people must have done the same. Thanks Taryn and Jim. I'll be using r222 Wax which appears to be good(from reviews) but not that durable. So guess I may have to top up wax about one a month after a thorough wash.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one currently left not knowing for sure! Spogshd it will be very interesting to see if you get any updates. Can't see me being very happy with vw if this is the case. I'll await with interest when the week 45 cars are delivered.

Thanks Alan. I was thinking about waxing each quarter and anticipating a full clean once a year so sounds like I'm not too far off the mark. Obviously water beading will be the giveaway! Have lambswool mits to wash with using 2 bucket method to hopefully keep swirl marks to a minimum.

Has anyone seen the week 45 changes in cars now built? My car was built in week 44 so have missed out if vw are doing anything- however spoke to my dealer who swears they know nothing about changes other than engine upgrade on petrol 2.0l. Will the week 45 updates apply to the tdi 170?
