Re: Big end: expensive
There was more to do than just a rebuild, and I couldn’t find a replacement engine for love nor money at the time. Stage 2 ? Rtech of course. Used to live near them and had already been talking to them about preparations. I’ll put that off for now, use up the warranty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapa...

Re: Big end: expensive
Considered forging, but decided against. Not going to go beyond stage 2, and not going to sell for the foreseeable (I was an oil change and some spark plugs away from stage 2 when this happened). Remanufactured engine and turbo, ancillary parts, service materials, first service, mot and labour (disc...

Big end: expensive
That was a costly one. Had one big end bearing shell disintegrate (other 3 were fine) and the piston tried to jump out through the head. [emoji45] Metal fragments in the oil got pumped round the whole engine. [emoji30] So a complete remanufacture of the engine and turbo. Borderline not worth doing, ...

Re: Replacement CAT help for a 2009 2.0 tsi
You may be better off getting a whole second hand oem down-pipe from someone who’s upgraded their exhaust. That will already have both cats, rather than splicing in new cats to your existing pipe.
Or you could always upgrade to a sports-cat pipe yourself [emoji3]

Re: Front Fog / Angel lights - no switch?
Yeah it’s quite firmly attached. This is the official access for changing fog/side/indicator lights.

Re: Front Fog / Angel lights - no switch?
I don’t know if there were any models released Without fogs. If there were, I suppose this could be a non-fog car that’s had a replacement bumper With fogs put on it. Easy way to check if the fogs themselves are wired in: pull of the black panel around the fog https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201809...

Re: Front Fog / Angel lights - no switch?
Those are the standard fog lights in the pre-facelift models. As Cuprabob says: the switch usually has two fog light symbols and pulls out two clicks to turn on both front and rear (the switch has to be turned to headlights first. Doesn’t work on auto). Is the switch photo of your car, or an image y...

Re: Front Fog / Angel lights - no switch?
If they’re fog lights, you pull the switch out one click when the switch is turned to headlights.

Have you got a photo of the lights themselves? Doesn’t sound like standard lights.

Re: My dark oak rocco
I’ve found the ST springs to be perfectly comfortable. Even on 2-300 mile journeys. I don’t have any photos showing how it sits now, but I like that it doesn’t look lowered until it’s parked next to one with standard springs.

Re: Mini Radiator ?
Think that’s the dsg cooler (mine’s a manual so I don’t have one). As to being wet, perhaps someone else with dsg can tell you how to check for a leak.

Have a google, I’m sure you’ll find some prices. I did it myself, so I only paid for parts and tools.

Re: Blue Scirocco 2.0 TSi
Hi guys, I just bought scirocco 2.0tsi 107k miles and I want to change chain tensioner on it as there are no evidence that it was changed in the past. I`ve called to TPS and they`ve told me that there are two different tensioners going on my scirocco? Do anyone know which one is the 'Good' one? Whe...

ST springs? Are those the yellow 20mm drop ones? I’ve put them on mine.
