Re: snow

On a slightly different note, has anyone noticed that the rear parking sensors can be completely rubbish at spotting large piles of snow? One minute it's not beeping at all and the next it's screaming at you to stop. I can recall the sensors on my old Scirocco were the same last winter, so wondered ...

Re: To Dsg or Not To Dsg

I moved from a 140 TDI manual to a 170 TDI DSG and I'm loving every minute of it. The DSG is so easy to live with and takes a lot of hassle out of driving, without feeling like you aren't in control. My only moan is that it likes to change up through the gears a bit quick in D mode, but with the pad...

Re: 2 year service plan from Arnold Shark

Maybe you could call VW customer services and ask if there are any dealers near you that are participating in the promotion. There is always a chance your dealer is participating, but would rather sell you their plan.

Re: 2 year service plan from Arnold Shark

Perhaps the £250 deal from VW could be used to bargain with the dealer on the price of their servicing if they aren't doing the VW deal?

Re: 2 year service plan from Arnold Shark

If you are buying using VW finance before 30th September you should get free servicing for three years. If not then VW are still selling three years servicing for £250.

Re: Finance

If it's for a new car check the finance calculator on the VW website as the rates are pretty decent at the moment and they are throwing in free servicing too.

Re: Confused about my servicing

Got my car almost 2 weeks ago, as some of you know and almost hit 450miles. I've had long life servicing on a couple of previous VWs and they didn't need a service for 18,000 miles, which was about 18 months of driving. It's definitely too early for your car to calculate when you'll need one as you...

Surely you just want to get the Skoda bluetooth box then and swap it with the rSAP one that is already in your car?

I had the lever arch folder with my first Scirocco, but when I picked up my new one a couple of weeks ago I was surprised to see the books now come in a fancy leather wallet. VW are really splashing the cash these days.

Re: RNS 510 splash screen/startup image changeable?

You would think it must just be a file on the system somewhere that can easily be changed. Is the screen not slightly different if you have Dynaudio? Its a bit like changing the theme on the RCD510. I've read you can change it on the RNS unit through VAG-COM but not on the RCD one, but I find it ver...

Re: Skoda bluetooth kit - where to buy?

I've had a quick look and found a very detailed guide on fiting it into an Octavia. I'm fine with the process until he gets to the wiring part and is making manual wiring connections :?

Re: Skoda bluetooth kit - where to buy?

I'm assuming with the Skoda kit I would need to run a cable from under the seat, up into the back of the RNS system. I don't like the sound of doing that tbh, but still..M I'd never really considered the Skoda kit as I always had in mind that it was an option for folk that wanted to relaced the RSA...

Re: Sweeeet stuff

One question I have is that in the new pricing list i.e. 2011 changes it says sealing tyres as standard on the GT. However I have normal Pirelli on them should I complain or not bother? I picked up my car on Thursday and was expecting Continental self-seal tyres like the Passat CC, but have Pirelli...

however all the brand new sciroccos ive seen even unregistered ones in dealers showrooms on display have this sort of instrument cluster that doesnt have the cowls  I'm sure I've seen a post somewhere (might have been on scirocconet) where someone put the dials from a Golf into a Scirocco. It ...

Re: Pedal Caps not available anymore?!?! aye

Its utter garbage. they still exist as they still fit them to new cars as standard!!! You'll prob need to order the individual covers rather than the boxed set though. I agree this has to be wrong if they still fit them to the Scirocco R, Golf GTI etc. Maybe they are changing them and the part numb...

I'm in exactly the same position with my second Scirocco. Ordered 1st May, due into dealer next week. If it was only a couple of weeks to the new registrations I would wait, but at 8 weeks I'd rather just take it now.

Re: Apple Iphone Software Update- iOS 4.0

On Scircco Topic though - the "bumper" case they supply, doesn't fit properly with the cable in the MDI! :( How bad a fit is the cable into the bumper? The Scirocco cable into my 3G iPhone doesn't fit too well due to the cover I have, but it does fit and with some careful wedging to stop ...
