Re: Few questions from a DSG amateur.
With DSG can you keep your foot on the accelerator and go up a gear with the paddle at the same time for a quick shift?

Re: How many chain tensioner failures on here?
Thanks for the heads up. Such a shame to have to worry about this issue as the scirocco is such a lovely car.

Re: How many chain tensioner failures on here?
I replaced mine a few months ago as it had the dreaded cold start rattle! The tensioner cost me around £50 and took my about 4 hours to complete, so well worth doing :-) Here's a link to my previous post http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17060 Shak Thanks for the replie...

How many chain tensioner failures on here?
Hi all I'm sure everyone has heard of the 2.0L TSI chain tensioner issues on the roccos. I'm just wondering if this has affected anyone on here and if it is actually common or rare as a local VW indie told me today that it's a 'ticking time bomb waiting to happen'! I'm slightly concerned that this m...

Re: Throttle delay
Cheers Shak, good to know! I bet it goes quick after a remap I'm pretty much used to the power now and feel like it needs a bit more poke.

Re: Throttle delay
Thanks for your replies, I'm glad it's not just me!
I guess for now I will have to adjust my driving style to suit, I may also look into mapping but I'm not overly keen on doing so.
Many thanks
Matt

Throttle delay
Hi I'm just wondering if it is normal for me to experience a delay when I press the accelerator before the power comes. It is only a very small delay, maybe a third of a second or less but I definitely notice it, especially when at low speeds. This is on a 200PS TSI. If this is normal can I do anyth...

Re: Chrome exhaust tips always getting black
I run my TSI on 95 petrol and always having to clean my exhaust tips as they regularly go black. I find the best thing to clean them is autosol, that gets them nice and shiny in no time!

Re: 58 plate engine code 2.0 TSI
Thanks,
I'm just wondering if the earlier mk3 Roccos had EA113s. Do all of them have EA888? Mine is the 200PS but the later model has the 210PS, do you know what the physical differences between the two are?
Cheers

58 plate engine code 2.0 TSI
Hi all!
Just wondering what the engine code is for my 58 plate TSI? Is it the same as the mk5 GTi EA113 or is it the later EA888 engine?
Cheers

Re: HELP! My Rocco won't start!!!!!
Turns out it's the dash pod! Unfortunately for me there are none in stock in the UK apparently so they have to import one from Germany which is going to take up to 3 weeks. Not cool. However the bloke that I have been speaking to at Exeter VW over the phone (Callum) has helped me out massively. He h...

Re: HELP! My Rocco won't start!!!!!
thanks for your reply. I called AA out and they asked for the spare key so I can only presume that has been tried. The AA man couldn't find the fault, tried all the fuses etc to no avail. The car has been at Exeter VW all day today and they haven't been able to find the problem so far! I did send bo...

HELP! My Rocco won't start!!!!!
Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some advice please! Just went to go and start up the Rocco (2.0L TSI 200PS 2008), it fired up for about 1 or 2 seconds then cut out. I tried again and again but exactly the same each time. Tried giving it revs but still cut out all the same. the car is at 56,00...

Re: Rocco Dadmobile
I agree with you. It is more practical to have 4 doors. But personaly I wouldn't get rid of scirocco for that. We have one child for now and everything fits in the boot, even push chair with other stuff when we went to vacation. We have 2 cars, vw polo and scirocco. Mine is of course scirocco, and ...

Re: Rocco Dadmobile
Thanks for the replies! The rear seats in the Scirocco aren't that bad to gain access when plugging kids in and out. I find that once the front seat has been folded forward you can kneel into the rear passenger foot well with one leg and achieve a comfortable postition for sorting the kidders out an...

Rocco Dadmobile
Hi all! Got my second child inbound as the Mrs is due in September, also have a dog but I'm not going to give in and get a 'Dad' car like an estate or anything. I'm sure I can make things work by getting a roof box for the Rocco. Am I mad or does anyone else see my logic? VW have quoted me around £6...
