Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some advice please!
Just went to go and start up the Rocco (2.0L TSI 200PS 2008), it fired up for about 1 or 2 seconds then cut out. I tried again and again but exactly the same each time. Tried giving it revs but still cut out all the same. the car is at 56,000 miles, any ideas?
I can see there is someone else with a similar problem but doesn't sound quiet the same because it will literally only fire up for a couple of seconds. I tried about 10 times.
Any advice is totally appreciated. Don't have breakdown cover either so I have no idea what to do?
Cheers
Matt

Re: HELP! My Rocco won't start!!!!!
thanks for your reply. I called AA out and they asked for the spare key so I can only presume that has been tried. The AA man couldn't find the fault, tried all the fuses etc to no avail. The car has been at Exeter VW all day today and they haven't been able to find the problem so far! I did send both keys with the AA man when he towed the car away to VW this morning so I hope they have tried that. I agree it does sound like an immobiliser issue tho. My in laws have an Audi TT and have had the exact same problem which turned out to be immobiliser. Hopefully I will find out tomorrow and it can be fixed. I just hope that it isn't too expensive and I hope that VW aren't trying to pull the wool over my eyes and rob me blind!
Cheers

Turns out it's the dash pod! Unfortunately for me there are none in stock in the UK apparently so they have to import one from Germany which is going to take up to 3 weeks. Not cool.
However the bloke that I have been speaking to at Exeter VW over the phone (Callum) has helped me out massively. He has managed to lend me a Golf Cabriolet TDi until my Rocco gets fixed. That's pretty good customer service if you ask me. VW isn't usually rated for customer service so I was very pleased because I really do need to get about as the Mrs is pregnant and we have scans and midwife appointments etc to get to.
I think the bill is going to hurt :-/
