Re: Plunged in to darkness at 70mph!
Nice to hear someone else has suffered this problem. Yes I have adjusted the sensitivity, however, when this happened I was on a country road, no street lighting, no other cars anywhere, and no road signs that may have reflected my lights. Sounds as tho it must be a problem with adjusting the lights...

Re: Plunged in to darkness at 70mph!
Cheers for replies. I never noticed the dash lights to be honest! The Speedo was lit, but it comes on with the key. I will check fuses later and also stick the laptop on it to see if any faults logged. Fingers crossed its just a loose or dirty fuse connection!

Plunged in to darkness at 70mph!
I am just wondering has anyone else had or heard of a similar problem to this? I was travelling home the other night, cruising along at 70, and the headlights turned off. I started braking and a second or so later, they came back on again. Not nice and if I had been on a tight corner or in traffic i...

Re: Supermarket Fuel
I read an article regarding a test that was done with "supermarket" diesel and "branded diesel, they took V6 TDI Audi and three cylinders on one side running on supermarket fuel and the three on the other side running on branded fuel and ran the car for about 12,000 miles then strippe...

Re: Rear View Camera
Right, I have the RNS 510 installed and coded to work with my steering wheel etc, next step is to get the camera wiring in. I have worked out what I need and how to pick up the power from the fuse box, but not 100% yet as to where the best earth point is and also the best way to connect to pin 28 on...

Re: Rear View Camera
My cars coming up on 3 year old and I have decided to keep it. I really want the reverse camera, but sadly my old RCD510 doesnt have the rvc input. So, to fit this I would probably upgrade to an RNS510 and do it that way. I have been looking at carsystems for the RNS510 and am wondering will the ver...

Re: Flat battery
Hi, I wouldnt worry about it, mine does the same, I dont use it much and it usually has a fairly low battery after 2 weeks and if you leave it longer it will go flat. I have found if I leave it unlocked it will last a lot longer so I would assume it is just the alarm and interior monitors running th...

Re: Adding DAB capability to your existing VW audio.....
I've been looking at these, seen lots of reviews with people saying how good the digital audio quality is? But it transmits on FM, so how can it sound any better than normal FM signals? Funny! So far the aerial which sticks to the window, and the fact I have a fiscon bluetooth already plugged into t...

Re: Beeping noise from radio speakers
Hi Chris, No, it is just one single bong, or chime, whatever you want to call it. And Zephyr, dont be so cheeky, its a tropical 6 degrees centigrade out just now and the wind chill is only 2 degrees, so

Re: Beeping noise from radio speakers
Ah, quite often when I have got in the car and started it, I have heard this bong just as the car starts. No lights show up on the dash and it had me and my rather poor dealers mechanics stumped. Maybe this is what it is? Odd that it does it just when the car has been started, but thats when the bat...

Fiscon and displayed signal strength
Hi, I have recently fitted the fiscon basic plus to my Roc and and generally very pleased with it. I fitted it with the proper interior light microphone and the sound quality is perfect despite some people saying otherwise. Anyway, one problem is, when you have no phone signal, which, where I live i...

Re: Wiper Bliss
Right, had the blades on a few weeks now and so far they have cured all the smear problems. Been through snow, sleet and rain and they have performed faultlessly throughout. Why do VW not fit a good quality non faulty blade like these bosch ones from the factory? I put the new VW ones I have back on...

Re: Wiper Bliss
Right, I ordered the Bosch wipers (980S aerotwin) from wipersdirect and they have since arrived and it finally rained! Verdict, well, i dont want to get too excited, but so far so good. Once I've been for a proper drive down the road in some proper rain I'll post back my findings. If these do the tr...

Re: Wiper Bliss
After a year and a half of continual complaints and visits to my dealer, I still have wipers that are so bloody useless you cant drive the car at night in rain. I've had every excuse told to me and every problem is my fault, wipers damaged by ice, yet I keep the car in a garage and dont use it when ...

In reply to Atlantis's problem with the ipod not switching off when the car is left overnight, my ipod went through a spell of doing this for no reason a while back. From the day I got the car the ipod had always been in it and as far as I knew it turned on when I got in, and went off when I got out...

Re: Mirror Down Bulletin
I think this is what mine suffers from if I've picked it up right. I can set the mirror to where I want it when in reverse and it will work fine for a few days, tilting to where it was set when reverse is engaged and returning to normal position when I drive off, but then for no reason will just jus...

My rears rattle too if I turn it up for a good tune, gonna complain when I get to the dealers, just poor panel fitting I think, the rear panels sometimes make a slight noise even when the radio's off.
