Re: Rear View Camera

What are people usually using for the reversing signal? Is it simply a case of splicing onto the reverse bulb cable? If so, is it easy to ID?

Re: Replace Cloth Trim With Leather

I have just bought a Scirocco R which has the cloth seats. They are ok but I would really like the vienna leather seats. How can I get hold of them? eBay, or get your seats professionally reupholstered for about £1k. I'd go for the latter to be honest, some of the results on here have been fantasti...

Re: Who has/will try the HHO kit?

Isn't the fuel already prepared? It's not like pouring water into the tank. But it's not a green method if they still need mostly fossil & nuclear energy sources for the power grid. That's exactly what you're doing - you top it up with distilled water from time to time. You can't break the laws...

Re: Squawking engine!

Well, it turns out its a squeaky water pump. To be replaced as soon as the warranty claim gets approved

Squawking engine!

The following clip is of my fully warmed idling 2.0 TSi. AC is off, oil has been checked. Any ideas?!

Re: Bluetooth mic got me baffled

Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but did you remove the black foam spacer piece from the microphone housing before clipping the mic into place?

Can't rule out a dodgy microphone either - are there any relevant error codes?

Re: Miles per tank

Wow, I'm impressed by the figures on some of these TSIs! I'm looking at around 250 per tank. If I was getting more, it would defeat the point of me upgrading from my 122bhp 1.4 Golf :P

Re: Car Insurance

It was £330 before mods, but up to £530 with Flux after a remap and intake. Hoping that'll drop next year!

I'm up the road in lancaster, I can help with the coding if you decide to take the plunge!

How difficult is it to retrofit Bluetooth to RCD510 was thinking of doing it my self.

Cheers
Pretty easy if you're not scared of removing interior panels, and have access to VCDS! Where are you based?

Re: RNS510 Nav question

Make sure you put the space in manually when entering a short postcode! Otherwise it thinks the second number is part of the first block (e.g. LA1 1.. would look like LA11 to the Sat Nav... then it wouldn't let you put anything else in).

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Fitted gloss black vinyl to the interior silver trim, decided it looked cheap, and went about doing a proper job. The interior is now trim-less and the parts have been sanded and primed ready for a gloss black coat tonight and laquer tomorrow. Pics to follow :D

Figured as much. Ah well, it's an excuse for four corners of new Goodyear F1 rubber... ;)

Mismatched/wrong directional tyres

Okay, I just bought a 2.0 TSI GT from a main dealer on the approved used scheme. I didn't realise before I drove away, but in short, all four tyres are different brands, and one of them is a directional tyre that's on the wrong way! How annoyed/concerned should I be, and what in your opinion should ...

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

I retrofitted Bluetooth and Cruise Control (and got both working, haha!), and fitted a VWR intake! Grubby hands, bloody knuckles, and only two bolts left over... :D
