Re: Worrying News

That's what I'm struggling to work out too. It's not much different to a normal warranty claim. There was no damage, nobody died. It's fixed. I can't see them giving up much more than maybe offering you a service for half price, if that. but it COULD have happened at 70mph and he COULD have DIED to...

Re: Thinking of selling my r

And now I'll be helpful... I sold mine a few months ago... Late 2011, 40'sh K miles, dsg, white,, 19s, leathers, dynaudio sound, full Bluetooth, mint condition, full service, I was second owner... Sold it for £18.5k. So assuming yours has the sought after extras of leathers and 19s I would expect yo...

Lot of extras?? This thread is making me tired.

Good luck with the sale, think you're gonna need it.

Re: Used R prices

I've also noticed that prices are all over the place a bit. Which has made it hard for me to price my R, which I am currently selling  But generally speaking, usually you get what you pay for. I've seen some R's for £14k-£15k.... but if it isn't high mileage for the age, cloth seats and a manua...

Re: Seeking a good VW dealer in London

I can vouch for rac london. I've been using them for about three or four years on various Audi/VW cars. Very good service, not the cheapest but worth it for the peace of mind and they use all genuine parts/main dealer diagnostics.

Re: Brown Leather Interior anyone?

In the same way you are unsure about buying it, so will a lot of potential buyers when it comes time for you to sell it. So be prepared for potentially a harder resale. I disregarded all tan interiors when buying my rocco because: 1) I wasn't 100% sold on it and didn't want to risk the possibility o...

Re: What does the stock R front light cluster consist of?

Well whiter bulbs have more/heavier blue on the glass so would tend to output less light. Power bulbs seem expensive I don't get why everyone says they are cheap like they haven't looked on the rainforest. You are right I fitted extreme visions as my full beams on prev ROC and they were like cannon...

Re: What does the stock R front light cluster consist of?

Performance and aesthetics tend to go hand in hand when it comes to lights... The whiter/brighter the light, the better the output. I've always used Philips X-treme vision bulbs for past cars as they always come out top or near top in reviews etc. Usually buy from powerbulbs as they have always come...

Indicator no need and obviously leaving the HID well alone!

Time for Philips bulbs or nightbreakers hmmm...

Thanks for that.
Might do the same.. as cornering is embarrassingly yellow.

Re: Attention from other drivers

When I got my R a year ago all I saw was people staring at it. Kids... Women... Men... Nuns. Everyone. I'd actually feel offended if someone didn't stare, and shortly after put it down to them being blind. Partially sighted at the bare minimum. A year later I hardly see anybody staring. But I think ...

Re: How fast is an R?

What are the differences between the 2.0tsi and the R? The 2.0tsi is cool. The R is cool as f*ck. I was looking at power differences, I know that the R is 40 or 60 bhp more I was just wondering what is what that caused the extra power? My bad.. I thought you were referring to their cool factor.

Re: Warranty question...

Anybody got any opinions on whether console arm bushes would be covered by warranty? Just had a service carried out by an independent and they advised that my console bushes are worn/cracking. It's my understanding that the entire console arm has to be changed, as they generally don't/can't swap jus...

Re: Warranty question...

Another quick question.... If you take your car in for, say, three faults and none are warranty (i.e either not covered by warranty or you just don't have any warranty on your car) and after them telling you what is wrong with your car you don't want them to fix any of the three faults..... Do they ...

Re: Warranty question...

Typically at my dealer it would come in to be diagnosed with the fault, but at the time of the booking the customer would be informed if it was caused by an outside influence then it would be chargeable, which they wont really know until they see the fault. However if they find 2 faults when pluggi...

Re: Warranty question...

To me, what she said makes sense, in my mind this is what it means: - You drop your car off - They plug your car into the diagnostics machine - They get out the necessary fault codes (if any) - They decide if it will be covered by warranty... If yes, they tell you it will be covered by warranty and...
