Re: Adding Bluetooth to RCD510
Did not follow a guide as done a number of VW retrofits. Simple to do on a Rocco as you can place the Bluetooth box behind the climate controls. Your not that far from me so could help you do it and code it for you if you came to me. That's very kind mate, where abouts are you? Without wishing to s...

Re: Adding Bluetooth to RCD510
I retrofitted the OEM vw Bluetooth kit into mine and it could not be Easyer. Took me about half an hour to do then a couple of minutes to code in. You can get the complete VW kits for £210 off ebay and they include everything needed. Did you use any guides or instructions to install the Bluetooth? ...

Re: snow lance
I use Auto Finesse Avalanche snow foam (which I believe is a product with the same sort of ingredients as their Citrus Power pre-wash) before every wash. Whilst I agree it can never replace a full wash, I do think it has a place in my wash routine. I find it does lift a top layer of 'loose' dirt, wh...

Re: smearing windscreen wtf?
Only things I can think of is to polish the windscreen and keep rubbing the wiper blades with IPA until no more crap will come off. I was amazed how much time it took until the cloth stayed clean after rubbing my wiper blades!

Re: paint chip
I don't think I'd fancy trying the Stanley blade suggestion myself...try rubbing it with some IPA and if that doesn't work you could even try going over it with a clay bar and/or some glass polish.

Re: Brembo Max Rear Discs
I had a look on the Brembo Aftermarket Catalogue ( http://www.bremboaftermarket.com/En/Car_Disc_Catalogue/Catalogue_Search.aspx ) however there doesn't seem to be a part number listed for the rear discs of the 1.4 TSI 160 in Brembo Maxx spec. I was also looking into these discs for my TDI but strugg...

Re: Best Wash Mitt? Zymol Sponge / Sheepskin / Lambswool etc
I usually use a Meguiar's Lambswool Mitt (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/meguiars-lambswool-wash-mitt-cat3.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), I've had two on the go for a couple of years and as long as you rinse them through after use they seem to stay pretty mu...

Re: Scratched Windscreen
I've looked into this very briefly in the past and from what I was able to gather it is extremely time consuming to 'correct' glass. It might be possible to remove light scratches however if there is any significance to the defect it's unlikely to polish out as glass is so hard. You would need to us...

Re: chemical guys never again
I must say I've ordered from Chemical Guys UK maybe 3/4 times over the past couple of years and didn't have any issues. I wasn't aware of the bad reputation they've been earning until reading WhiteDevil's link, maybe I just got lucky?...It's shame really because some of their products are really top...

Re: DIY BRAKE PADS AND DISC CHANGE :HELP:
Cheers mate, I have been reading about Brembo Maxx Discs which have caught my eye, they have groves on the disc to supposedly increase stopping performance, though they are quite expensive...Does anybody have experience with them? However if most of the 'standard' setups are going to perform pretty ...

Thanks for the replies everyone.
What are your thoughts on Brembo/Mintex/EBC 'standard' (i.e. not fast road/track spec) replacement discs and pads vs the oem Pagid ones?...Would I see any benefits in performance or less dusting?

Re: DIY BRAKE PADS AND DISC CHANGE :HELP:
Thanks for the reply Gray. I have been reading lots about the various discs and pad combinations, and had pretty much decided on the Brembo discs as well. Pads wise I had been leaning towards Mintex M1144 after hearing so many good things about them, although they do seem a little on the expensive s...

Re: best to dissolve dirt and flies?
The easiest way to make cleaning the car quicker & easier is to seal the paint with a wax or sealant first, so it is harder for the dirt, bugs, etc to 'stick' to the car and in turn, easier to get them off. Some suggestions for products that I use to remove said contaminants are: Auto Finesse Ci...

Re: Best protection for lazy owner...
FinishKare FK1000P is a tough, long lasting and relatively inexpensive wax/sealant, its super-easy to apply and it comes in a big tin so you wont run out in a hurry either. Auto Finesse Tough Coat is also a great long-lasting sealant worth considering as well. It is important to bare in mind that th...
