Cruise Control 58 Plate

Hi,

I've done a search before anyone points me in that direction and brought up the guides etc, all looks very do-able i just have a question regarding the stalk itself.

I have been in touch with VW and their parts department, who have said that there are 2 options for the stalk, one is the all-in-one indicator and cruise control stalk - the one that i want - and another is a 2 piece one, i.e. a separate stalk for indicators and cruise control. He seemed to think, rightly or wrongly, that the 1 piece one was labelled as suitable for cars post Nov 09, and the 2 piece one for any before that. My car is a 58 plate, yet from looking at the guides and stuff they all seem to refer to the 1 piece system.

Anyone care to shed any light on which one i should use, or even if they would both be compatible?

The parts number I have are

1k0 054 690 B for the all in one
1k0 953 513 G 9 B 9 for the 2 piece system

I am hoping that I can install the one piece one but as the 1 piece is £80 and the two piece £57 I want to make sure i get the right one.

Thanks for taking the time to read and help out,

Dan

Not sure what you mean by all in one and two piece but all 1K0054690B consists of is a 1K0953513G9B9 stalk and a instruction manual. If you know how to fit it already it is cheaper to buy the stalk on its own or order MK5 Golf kit 1K0054690A which has the same stalk and some wiring which is not needed, for some strange reason this kit is now cheaper than the one without the cable in.
