1.4 TSi ECU reprogramme campain

Post by ktmdave »

Had my 1.4TSi (160) at the dealer for it's second (30 000km) (done in one year) service. Pre service paperwork shows that there is a VW ECU reprogram campain on the 140 TSi.
You are asked if the vehicle is chipped etc - obviously no mention was made of my Chip-Logic remap.
I get the car back and the first thing I notice is the addition on the MFD (white) is the new addition of the gear number indicator and gear change indicator next to the time on the top (mine is the manual gearbox)
Power really dissapointing now that the I had got used to the Chip Logik remap (was done at 4000km) - HUGE difference in second and 3 rd gear between 2500rpm and 4500 rpm. Chip logik guys say no problem, they will remap it at no cost.

Anybody have an idea what the reprogram was about and what was adressed in the re programming. A sticker in the boot to the LHS of the spare wheel is an indication that this reprogramme has taken place.

Any comments?
