Hi There,

I've just had a Pioneer AVH-3200BT installed in my Scirocco.

So far it all works really well - pairing with my iPhone is great, and playing tunes from the iPhone is working well.

Only problem is that I can only have the unit working if the ignition is on. There doesn't seem to be an ACC position on the ignition switch.

I assume that having the key inserted is really the ACC position, but with the key in the radio is off. It's not a major problem, but it means that if I'm taking a phone call when I stop the car, I can only continue it if I leave the engine running.

Anyone know if it's a simple wiring problem, or whether it's something I'll have to live with?

Cheers

Martin

Rather than a ACC position hardwired circuit, VAG group cars now use a signal over the CANBUS to indicate Ignition key in or out. The OEM units can read this signal and continue to run when the ignition is off but the key still in the lock. An aftermarket unit like your Pioneer will not have that facility.

I've been told I can buy a canbus interface that provides power until the key is removed

Yes, I thought I had read about one of those too, but when I did a quick google on it I couldn't find anything.
