I bought a few months ago an RNS510 device. so I had to take my RCD510 out of the car.
now I would like to sell that RCD, but i don't know if there is a code needed when you put it in an other car.
and if there is a code needed, where can I find these?
thanks!

I have been told, don't shoot the messenger  All modern radios etc in cars are coded to a car's ECU to prevent theft and if the original device needs resetting it is does by the dealer free of charge.

Well the radio is coded to the car it came from the factory in, if you take it from this car and put it into another car you need a 4 digit code before it will work in the new car, if however you take it out of the original car but put it back at a later date you can do is without entering a code, you can do this as many times as you like without the need to enter the code in the original car.

that was their argument for charging me £15 for the code...saying you never need it for my car so they dont 'have' a reason to give it to me.

Cheeky gits, its your f@#$ing radio! I cant believe that after spending ££££'s with them, they want to charge you £15.
