Its that time of year again, been looking around, been to the sponsers of this forum but everyone seems to be uncompetitive (compared to my renewal) Are there any unknown / out of the mainstream companies that I should try?
Even my renewal has increased by £100 with no reason (no claims/convictions in the year!)
Any help much appreciated.

have you tried our sponsors (remembering to quote any club codes
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... f=8&t=4527" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
mod friendly list -
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =20#p49400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and then the general one have you tried the usual comparison websites and the other major ones that aren't on then (aviva, direct line etc)
mine is coming up in just over a month so so i'm not far behind you scouting round the prices

Seems to me insurance has generally gone through the roof in the last 12 months. Both my policy and my wifes (on a Yaris!) went up quite considerably around the 100 mark. I shoppped around a lot, bartered my existing insurance down a bit and she changed hers to LV who seemed to be doing the best deals at the moment. Nearly changed mine to LV but the guy on the phone was an arse so lost my business; which was odd as she got someone really pleasant!

Aviva seem to be very competitive at the moment. They came up with the best price for both the Scirocco and the Tiguan. Also, sign up to Top Cashback using this link:
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/littleyellowspider" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and you'll get £30 cashback when you take out a policy.

Mine is up for renewal at the end of September. My current company (Co-Op) have sent me a renewal, which is £700(!) more than what VW Insurance will charged. To me its a no brainer

You should also ring up the companies after you get online quotes. I went with More Than after they had the best online price for me. I then called up to check some of the options I had picked were correct and they were but on the phone the quote they came up with was £100 cheaper than online!
