Had alloy-tech booked to come today and sort out a scuff on my alloy. Waited in for them all day, then when they did arrive, we found out that a load of the tool kit in the boot was missing, along with the locking-nut key.

They put the 18" alloys on new as part of the deal, obviously used the tools out of the car instead of their own and never put them or the key back. Simple oversight maybe, but a bloomin' serious one if I'd had a puncture on my daily commute along the M6. Not only that, but they ain't half scuffed the alloy around the hole for the nut.

Another phone call tomorrow and trip to Warrington!
2 phone calls and over 5 hours later, I still have no reply from the sales manager at Warrington Volkswagen. Only one option I thought.... VWUK customer services. Have told them the whole saga, including sending me off with my private plates attached before they had legally transferred it onto the car :eyepop:. VWUK will now have to mediate and force Warrington to get it sorted out. I am fuming with them now.

Good luck with that - VWUK mediation is a sham, you are just a number to them, unlike VW Germany who will go to the ends of the Earth to sort customer issues out.

i also got my roc from warrington volkswagen and have to admit that the customer service is appalling every time i go they always seem to cock up what ever they are meant to do, ie set off three times to pick my roc up when it was new only to be told while i was on my way there that the car was not ready, had the igniton barrel changed under warranty took it down to find out the part was not there and finally took it for a free service yesterday (got it because of all the cock ups) only to find that i had to wait an extra hour because they had to see if i was entitled too the free service even though two days before i had rang up too make sure that the service was free. i used too have a toyota and their service is 100 times better, wont be getting my next car from warrington vw

What's worrying is that I came from Renault... widely renown for their appalling dealer network and customer services. I have to say Ihave never had this problem with them. They fitted the wrong headlight unit (continental spec) at the factory. Only found out when it was out of warranty and it failed its first MOT. They replaced it all no questions asked.... nice, quick and easy!

Always wondered why I kept getting flashed :? ..... only took three years to find out!

Unfortunately its not me and not at Warrington. I believe he is head of aftersale's at Milton Keynes head office so i assume that makes him "Head of Head of Aftersales"??

Hes my best mates dad, ill have a word with him and see if he can put you in contact with the right people.

Failing that i had a major problem with my airbags in 2006 - i wrote a complaint to the then MD:

JT Paul Willis
Yeomans Drive
Blakelands
Milton Keynes
MK14 5AN
United Kingdom

My problem was resolved within 2 weeks.

Since then i know a gentleman called Chris Craft has also taken a place as director chris.craft@volkswagen.co.uk and believe that to be as recently as 29th March 2010.

This is a list of CEOs and Directors for some of the world largest companies - really useful!! http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html

So in 12 months of ownership you've never checked under the boot lining to see if the spare wheel and all the accessories are there??

Sorry but that's just poor on your part. I check mine when I pick the car up every time it's in for service etc. And damn made sure it was there on first day of ownership.

To be honest, I didn't think about it. Thankfully have never needed it. And all the other problems I had on collection, it wasn't top of my list!

One would think that given they are the professionals, they would be able to get "little" things like this right. You live and learn I guess. It is also not so much the fact that they are missing, but upon finding that hey are missing and trying to contact them, they then ignore phone calls.

Customer service in resolving current issue yes it's not on, but with any new product it's just wise to check everything is in order nowadays. You'd think they're professionals but everyone is human and prone to mistakes some more so than others (hence I picked my dealer carefully)

But like u say just have to live and learn and not make same mistake (I.e. Use different dealer)

not with standing preivous issues, so becasue they haven't responded to two phone calls for a few missing bits you call in VW customer service

i can't help thinking swinging by your dealer, popping in to chat to someone on the service desk would have seen you with the bits now in your boot or on order by now

i don't use the dealer i bought mine from for servicing or warranty stuff after an issue with their service (and lack of response to an issue with their service), that said if they are offering the best deal come replacemnt time i'm sure i will do the deal as they no they need to sharpen their pencil, have i named them, no

Wigit - it is all part of a long running saga with problems from the very beginning. Sending me off with plates attached illegally. They have constantly failed to return phone calls etc. It is ad business practice.

As for swinging by the dealer, they are 45minutes in the wrong direction for me. Not really practical.

Maybe not practical, but you chose to buy from them knowing full well there distance - The dealer I brought from is 30 mins away - local one about 5 mins, but if I had an issue with the car, I would be in no doubt about jumping in my car and driving the 30 mins over there. Especially if it was soon after purchase.

- I to believe that I think if you had just shown up and spoke to the Branch Manager or something, it would of been resolved quicker.

That's just my two cents :)

I found VW Warrington to be poor, they registered my Scirroco in the wrong name, I had a few issues with the car when I bought it and when the car went back to VW Warrington to be fixed they dented a panel and tried to make out the car was already damaged prior to me leaving it with them. When the service manager realised that I was going to *** him if he said another word it got sorted.
The car went back several times to VW Warrington for a squeak on the drivers door window, and the couldn't reslove it.
I then left the car in with VW Macclesfield and the problem was resolved first time.
VW Warrington - One of the most useless dealers I've ever dealt with.
