Hi Guys and Gals,
Has anyone used UK Car Broker to supply their Rocco?
They have a really great price which equates to nearly £3K Discount on my spec. Would appreciate any information on them, do you know if they charge a fee or not? Etc and so on....
Thanks

Hi Andy
I used
http://www.dealdrivers.co.uk/html/scirocco.html. Basically they put me in touch with a dealer that had build allocation. The deal went through as per a normal order with a dealer, 3 months from order to collection with approx 10% off list price. I didn't pay a fee to dealdrivers (they get paid a referral fee by the dealer). Everything went through smoothly with no hidden charges - very satisfied

Used UKNewcars about 5 years ago. They arranged for me to buy a car through Lookers of Burnley, Lancs - it was a 2 hour drive for me to go and get it. I didn't use them after that because my local dealer could always match the brokers offer for my last 2 cars. Biggest potential issue with using these brokers is you part ex if you have one, might be hard to get a decent part ex price when the dealer is potentially so far away that they won't see the part ex until handover day.
Don't expect top whack for your part ex with the brokers, they can't give you a great deal on the new car AND give you a great part ex price. When I say that mydealer matched their prices, they didn't discount the new car as heavily, but they did give me a better part ex so that the price to change was the same as with the broker e.g Broker gives £2000 discount but dealer gives £1200 discount and £800 more than the broker for your part ex = same deal.
If you have no part ex then broker is probably the way to go.

Just get a quote from one of the online deal companies and take that into your local dealer. With a big of negotiating they should match the price. If they dont go to the next one that will.

Many thanks to you all for the reply's and good valid points of interest.
They are quoting £26721.97 for the following
2.0 TSI GT Pearl Black Manual
Cornsilk/ Black Leather
Mats F & R
Parking Sensors
DVD Sat Nav + Dynaudio
Flat Tyre Indicator
Folding Mirrors
Smoking Pack ( Gets Rid of The Hole )
Winter Pack
19" Lugano Black Wheels + Dash Inserts
Which is around £3k Discount, the downside is that its an October Delivery ...... But they don't take a fee as the dealer gives them it. So thats the price you pay.
Im waiting for the local VW dealer to come back to me ( hopefully today ) with a price. I would prefer to do a deal with them as it should be less hassle and I will discuss the price I have from the Broker as you suggest.
I dont have a Part Ex as I will sell my Mini Works Privately

The hole is covered by a cap. Unless you smoke, don't bother with this.

Has this changed? My 2010 BW9 Roc would have had an open cubby hole if I had not ordered the Smoking Pack.

no it hasn't what, i think, littleyellowspider means is the smoking pack just adds a cover to this cubby but its actually still quite unsuable unless you smoke

That's exactly what I did.
Buy A Car were quoting an excellent price (£2750 off list price).
I took their quote to 3 dealers within a 80-mile radius of my home.
2 dealers were not interested in trying to match it, saying it was "fleet discount" rate.
The dealer closest to me actually bettered it by more than £200, then followed that up with significant discounts off special insurance and car treatment products.

Nope. I thought the hole being referred to was the 12v socket, and the OP was thinking it would be left open unless there was a cigar lighter stuck in it. I just meant the little flappy 12v cap that goes over it. I didn't realise that that whole cubby hole changes with this smokers pack - but come to think of it, I guess it turns into a closeable ashtray, doesn't it?

Hi Guys,
Many thanks for all the replies. Northampton VW couldn't or wouldn't match it. Took forever to get a deal tabled and in the end the only price they quoted me was list price despite me asking for their best deal and I had to wait 2 weeks for that!!!
Ive been away but Im desperate to get mine on order, maybe go dealer trawling on Saturday and if no joy I will order on line.
Hi Topicalkeith, which dealer did you go to?

When I went with UKNEWCARS (for a Golf) about 4 years ago, the dealer was Lookers of Burnley (quite a way from Northampton, I know, but it's quite a way from Newcastle too!), and all dealer contact was through the fleet manager. Not sure whether UKNEWCARS has a southern dealer for VW closer to Northampton. The whole UKNEWCARS experience was hassle free, although my local dealer has been able to match their deals since for my last 2 cars (generally around £1200 off the new car but £800 more on the part ex than the UKNEWCARS dealer vs £2000 UKNEWCARS discount).

I went to Colbourns. I knew the spec I wanted, took in the print out with the quote and said if you match the price I will order it today, which they did without any need for negotiation. about 8% off.
Good luck

I ordered last saturday at a local dealer and got within £100 of the average of the two online car brokers I tried (UKnewcars, deal drivers). That was good enough for me as they where taking a part ex and got a bit more for it that I thought I would.
