HELP ME!

Our on-line ordering system (for our company cars) has just been updated with new prices... I can now get the 2.0TSI!!
However, the Diesel has now gone down, now here is where I need help:
2.0 TDI = £117 per month (this is what I have to pay on top of the allowance we get)
or
2.0 TSI = £155 per month
Obviously the TDI is on order with delivery on March, but I can still cancel - what should I do????
I have an Astra VXR with 240BHP which I currently pay £180 for and wanted to save money this time around... but 140bhp Diesel vs 200bhp Petrol
Everyone said just pay the extra £38 per month!

Pay the extra for the petrol! That's my opinion. Think you would be mucho disappointed with the power in the 140bhp TDI compared to your current VXR. You must be living comfortably at the moment paying £180 extra a month, so £155 extra a month still means you'll be saving money compared to the present time.
What with petrol being cheaper than diesel at the pumps now too, and the 'roc having a respectful MPG for the power it has, I think you should go for the petrol
Oh no, wait, actually don't go for a Scirocco at all - I can't order one until mid-2009 at the earliest so you'll just make me jealous!

37mpg is much better than the 30mpg I get in the VXR so I'm sold!
Cancelled the TDI and ordered the TSI

Now had to remove Run Flat indicator and Dynaudio - was always in two minds about them anyway
Woohoo

tsi engine sold me over diesel a long time ago, people mute about the diesel torque and yes in the outside of the motorway in sixth they are great, however, scirocco picks up from around 20mph in 4th, congrats on the change of mind

That didn’t take much persuasion! Well done mate you’ll love it.
I average 28-30mpg in light traffic, 36-40mpg in slow moving motorway traffic.
The TSI has loads of torque – I find it quite satisfying knocking it into manual when on the motorway and letting the torque do the work without changing down a gear.

You might want to think twice about cancelling the flat tyre indicator, its saved me twice in my Golf GTI, and as a £35 option, its a no brainer ( although paying for it on company car can be expensive ) you might want to get in touch with the garage responsible for ordering your car, and spec it as an extra.
Totally agree with everyone else on here, the petrol engine is the clear winner.

Can it be added an after fit?

I've only got about 20p left per month on my budget so unbelievably I actually can't afford it!

Interested if it can be added after... I'm looking to do that with the Cruise Control.

somebody on here did ask the dealer to order the option after the leasing company had ordered the car, and paid for it over the phone, so im guessing the dealer thats handling the order can ammend it, but only up to a week before its build week, i unbelievably forgot to spec it on my order and am going to have to shell out for it after market, it is after all only wiring up a pushbutton and a change to the software. But it does work, caught a rip in my rear offside hours before a 3 hour motorway journey, shudder to think what would have happened otherwise..

Yeah I'll have to try that, however, when I spoke to BMW about this they were very negative to the idea

ha ha... this was when I was considering the 118d M-Sport - I couldn't get the upgraded stereo but they wouldn't let me pay them directly
