Well lets discuss VWs customer care after sale?

Ive been discussing (other thread) the problems with the media/in on this forum, to find how to fix the problems with the rocs player.
Ive read that you can manually update the software on the system. Having found this out i emailed my dealer and the guy who sold me the car, as i dont fancy doing it myself and wondered if he knew anything about it.

I have no reply and its somewhat frustrated me as when before i picked the car up he was quite helpfull, and answered emails almost immediatly, even if he couldnt tell me up to a week before i picked the car up when i could pick it up. I also emailed him before xmas regarding the same matter, still no answer. Jesus VW sort it out your customer care stinks.....and thats going from some of the posts ive seen on here aswell.
Another thing he was supposed to do was send me a written letter confirming the free 1st service I haggled when purchasing the car, no email or letter which i asked about in the ignored email!!
He said ill get it a week after i picked the car up!!! This guys starting to give me the ache, and im tempted to pop in and slap him lol (joking)

Ive had a lot of new cars from dealers (this was my 14th) mazdas, fiats, citroens,MGs and renaults and their after sales have been much better and theyre cars have cost less!!

I know maybe im being a bit erratic but damn i paid over 20k for this motor, i would like some support from volkswagen.

What do you guys think? had any bad or even good experiences with VW?
Dan

p.s i must admit i got a good price for my old renaultsport 197 and he did chuck a bit in for me, maybe i shouldnt complain really lol

I would be tempted to suggest it is the dealer rather than VW at issue. Personally I've found VWs dealer's customercare to be fine and quite consistent with the 2 large dealers I've dealt with (Arnold Clarke & Benfield).

For what its worth, emails are too easy to ignore, ring the bugger up and ask him what he is doing. You shouldn't have to go in to discuss it with him.

I have found several VW dealers to be terrible (still not found a really good one) Its seems to be standard policy not to bother returning phone calls etc.

Of my experience with previous cars Honda dealers are by far the best.

Its a shame really because I really rate VW cars but not VW dealers or VW uk.

The stories I hear on hear never surprise me. I've been around VWs since 1970. The car models may have changed but the story flavours were the same back then and it has never changed over the years.

The good thing today is that the internet has made it very easy to share info between owners and so be a lot wiser.

I wished they could learn!
