A pillar trim removal

I am after some help with removing the A pillar trim. The manual shows a metal spring clip that requires compressing with a screwdriver. I think I have compressed it enough but can't seem to release it? Anyone had an issue or advice on removing this type ?

Finally managed to remove the trim. I just had to be a little bit firmer with it!
I could not live with the way Autoglass left some black sealant protruding.

Mate is it really just a clip? On the right-hand side that is. On the golf it seems to be a torx-screw rather than just a clip; if it's just a clip then my dashcam install will be considerably easier.

Yes it’s just a clip as per the image above on my 2017 Rocco. It did take quite a bit of compressing. I used a small flat blade screwdriver. I have seen quite a few videos with T20 Torx on other VW’s though. Good luck.
