As the title says
I’ve a 2015/6 vw scirocco 2.0tdi rline
It’s a cracking car, I actually came from an Audi s6!
Big difference but I’m enjoying it. It has everything I need but now it needs an upgrade on the ice.!
It’s has the rns 315 with parking sensors and bluetooth.
It works well but I wanted an upgrade and I’ve been down the android headunit route but decided not to.!
So I’ve just bought the 5k7035200e mib std2 pq+/nav carplay head unit.
Well I’m waiting on delivery so decided to get the extras to fit it.
But I’m unsure what I need, I don’t have a camera on the rns315 just the sensors, & mic/bluetooth sat nav .
is it an easy upgrade for adding camera to the new unit?
Or can I get away with an aftermarket camera and fit it?
Also I’ve got vcds so I will need to code the head unit and the camera/sensors?
Do I need to get adapters for the mic or sat nav aerial?
I do have all the parts for the rns315 still in car but not sure what will fit.?
Also will
The stereo will require a hack to software or motherboard?
If so how do I do this ? I’ve seen people offering services to unlock stereo for all CarPlay etc. can I do this myself.?

Take a look at the Mr Fix videos on YouTube...he details all of the work needed to update firmware and enable the additional functionality like Nav and App Connect.
Have a look here https://mib-helper.com/ and here too https://mibsolution.one/ Although this appears to be down currently.It hosts a lot of the firmware/maps you will want to update to latest etc....

However, if you are buying second hand/refurb, most of the sellers always patch the devices for all of that anyway...???

I now switch from RNS315 to Discover Media unit and adding the rear camera system on my facelift version.
To do it, I bought adapter to switch from RNS315 to Discover Media and the rear camera kit on the website Carsystems.
This company is a nightmare !

Before place order, I tried to get some information or confirmation by email, the answers were always really short without any lot of information (also neither good morning nor thank you).
I placed order, Carsystems guys confirmed the compatibility of the items to my car (VIN shared), then send me the products.

As result, I received parts without any document instructions to install (in particular the rear camera electrical harness), but they confirmed that instructions are available before ordered.
Also, the adapter from RNS315 to Discover Media is not correct, not usable.

After lot of emails and one phone call, I shared informations with them regarding the correct adapter PQ to MQB.
I started to install the rear camera in my car but not finished due to not yet received instructions !
The result is that, this company Carsystems doesn't have the correct knowledge as promised or announced to customer (in particular Scirocco).
I'm still waiting to received a correct adapter and the whole instructions for rear camera.

Does anyone have some wiring instructions (in particular where to connect the yellow wire on the rear taillight, confirmed the red cable connection) and installation instructions (remove rear bumper then drill for camera) ?
