I have a Scirocco with a 1.4 tsi, 160 hp engine from 2009.
The problem that occurs is when I start driving (the compressor turns on), I hear a squeal that lasts for about half a second to a second. During this time, the car does not go slower, nothing bad happens, it has as much power as it had, but the squeal is very irritating. Sometimes this short squeal also occurs when I let off the gas. You can hear it best when you are having fun at a lower speed gas pedal, i.e. we press and release and repeat, then we hear squeaking noises.
I replaced the water pump and the belts that connect to the pump.
When they lifted me on the lift, the mechanic claimed that the squeaking occurs when the plates "connect" water pumps (probably the ones that turn on the compressor?)
