Reprogramming the window

Hi, I have put a new window motor and regulator on my scirocco on the passenger side and now it doesn’t drop when I come to open the door and press the unlock button on my key fob, I’ve done the usual thing in the car by trying to program it by pressing the switch but that hasn’t worked, does it have to be reprogrammed in with a machine or anything? Thanks
