Scirocco Central

Hello All,
Car: 2010 scirocco 1.4tsi 160
So 2 months ago I had the timing chain, tensioner, guides, oil/water pump changed(all genuine VW parts)due to the dreaded rattling.it solved the issue, still had a slight noise when cold but was expected.

Fast forward 2 months and the noise is back! If not worse, when I returned to the garage the mechanic has said he doesn’t think it’s the chain and it’s something more
“Internal” and/or low oil pressure, he failed to elaborate any further! There are no fault codes present atm either.

Where should I proceed from here?
I do have a video, how do I attach it!?

If you are sure it’s the same noise I would get a second opinion, if that points to the work you had done go back to the mechanic who did the work in the first place.
Who supplied the parts and did you have it done in a proper garage with receipts etc?
Can you be 100% sure the parts were genuine?

I’m positive it’s the same noise, I will get an second opinion and hopefully they confirm. Yes, it was a proper garage who state they use genuine parts on chain replacements. I have invoices and I’m guessing they will provide some kind of documentation for warranty purposes.
Well they said they were genuine, I obviously took there word.

Ok so get the second opinion. If it turns out to be connected to the work you had done, it is entirely down to the garage that did the work in the first place. Proving it however may be a different story. It may be worth going to an independent VW specialist and getting them to give you proof in writing, then armed with this contact the original garage and ask them to rectify the issue. I would advise against driving the car for now to prevent further damage etc.
The garage are legally bound to rectify this issue for you (assuming it is related) and assuming you are in England (as I am not sure on laws on other countries) under the consumer rights act. This obviously only applies if it relates to the work the garage did. If you need any more help, please give us a shout. Hope this helps.
