Scirocco Central

Hi,

I have a problem with my Scirocco that neither my mechanic nor I can solve. I got a new Water Pump Magnetic Clutch installed upon purchase
2014 DSG 1.4 TSI Twin Charged 160hp R-Line.
Yes, aware of this engine's problems, but it runs super clean, has no carbon, and has pristine pistons. I take good care of it.

The water pump has been in here for three months, and I have been having a squeak ever since. The mechanic who installed it insists it's characteristic.

Both posts indicate it's the pump; replies are mixed, saying replacement solved it. Others say it did not.

My mechanic will replace it again but says it will not fix it. he is adamant.

Any help would be super appreciated. This is driving me crazy.

If the problem has only occurred since the replacement water pump then there is clearly an issue. A water pump should not be noisy, it’s not a “characteristic”
Assuming you had the job done as one (the mechanic supplied and fitted the parts) then it is his responsibility to correct it.
If however you purchased the part and asked him to fit it then obviously he doesn’t have to do anything.
I’d assume the part is faulty and needs to be replaced and as it is an important part of the cooling system I’d be inclined to sort it sooner rather than later or the mechanic has made a mistake when fitting it. Either way I would suggest getting it looked at. Alternatively take it to another garage and ask for a second opinion.
