Head Gasket Help

Hi , first time of posting but looking for a little help, my 2015 2.0 TDI 184bhp Scirocco has been loosing coolant for quite a while , no puddles of water and no increased operating temperature.
In my mind this was either EGR cooler or head gasket , my mechanic removed and replaced ( whilst there at my instruction )the EGR cooler BUT the problem is higher up the chain , the EGR and DPF were both spotless from there obvious steam cleaning. The problem is obviously the head gasket I would think, strange because vehicle had engine rebuild and new turbo only 18 months ago (5K miles) but coolant loss has been there since rebuild, no white smoke and only the smallest speck of white residue on oil fill cap which I always put down to short trip usage.
Is it possible to change the head gasket in situ or would people advice pulling the engine back out, could the reman turbo be at fault in any way ?, engine was rebuilt very thoroughly at the time , new gasket and stretch bolts, just looking for some guidance please, love the car but need to get to enjoy it, Engine Code is a CUWA.
Thanks for any help and comments.
