Climatronic whirring noise

My daughters 2011 Scirocco has started making a whirring sound when the A/C is activated. The noise isn’t coming from the compressor, but seems to be coming from behind the dash. It seems to be blowing cold air as it should.
I’ve made a short video, but unfortunately the forum software won’t allow me to attach it.
Has anyone else has encountered this issue and/or knows how to fix it.
