My wife has a 2009 mk6 golf 1.4 tsi 122 bhp CAXA engine code, the same as the scirocco. It needs a replacement 6 speed gearbox, LHY code and cant seem to find one (too far away, too expensive) Does anyone have one or had any experience in swapping for another box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If the engine code is the same, can another gearbox be fitted, with swapping the gear linkage cables to each side. Anybody else done this.
