MAF problems

Got my car scanned as had abs light, esr light and flashing brake warning light. Turns out it is a MAF fault. I’ve changed the maf for a known second hand version still the same.
Tried clearing codes with a reader and it says cleared but fault still there? Not getting any change in voltage on the maf when engine revved?
Car runs and starts fine, just loads of beeps and warning lights...
Any ideas?

A faulty MAF would not trigger those warning lights. If there is a MAF fault code it's just a coincidence. It's possible the code reader is not able to read codes for the ABS controller, if it wasn't VCDS that was used.

It could be a faulty wheel speed sensor or the ABS controller itself. There is also a recall on the ABS controller for the early cars.

Thanks. Thought it was odd tbh.
Garage used a snap on reader, so thought that would be up to date.
Car was registered in March 2009 if that makes a difference re ABS controller.

Well it’s definitely the Abs controller confirmed by a proper scan. The Maf is also faulty apparently although car runs fine. Will have to check if mine has been recalled. Presume phone a dealer?

Yes, give dealer a call, give them your VIN and they will tell you if it's one of the affected cars and whether the update has been done.

The abs can alter the MAF signal for ESC.
This way it can control the throttle so might be related.

Quick update on this thread. After proper diagnosis Abs controller failure plus PCV valve faulty. Garage that I bought the car from has had both replaced. Genuine VW Parts as well. No cost to me, think I had a good result there.
