Reverse Camera Issue, Scirocco TSI 2009

Hi everyone,

Recently bought myself a scirocco 2009 and I’ve been doing some bits and bobs to it. Recently upgraded the head unit to a RCD330 plus and have been trying to get a aftermarket reverse camera to work with it. I’m not fully confident with the wiring involved but have been giving it a go. So originally the reverse camera I bought was was just the camera with a rca and a ac plug. The head unit came with a rca female plug which I connected up to the harness of the head unit and I plugged the rca cable from there into the reverse camera in the back. I have the camera powered via the cigarette lighter in the boot. This would work once very time I started up the car. I would change it into reverse and the picture would be displayed on the head unit but only ever the first time I did it. I looked in some Forums and it suggested a time delay box. I purchased one and proceeded to hook up. The ground and the acc cable into the cigarette lighter and the reverse wire into the blue and black of the reverse light. Once this was hooked up it again only worked the first time of having the engine and on. My decision to hook it into the cigarette lighter was me thinking it would be easier to do it that way. I write this in the hope that someone has came across this before and could give me a hand. Im not sure if it’s a wiring issue, head unit issue or something completely different.

Cheers in advance
