Time to say goodbye

After owning a Scirocco R for the last 6 years I've just traded it in for a BMW M2 competition.

Anyone thinking of buying an R should go for it. The car never let me down and was always a pleasure to drive.

Thanks for all the advice and help I've received whilst being a member. There's a wealth of information here for current and future owners.

Cheers Paul.

It must've been tough letting go, Paul. But I'm sure you'll enjoy your new toy! ;)

If you don't mind me butting in on your thread, I'd like to echo your message. After 7 years of Scirocco ownership, I also will be saying goodbye to my R, to be replaced with a 20-plate VW Arteon.

The R has been everything I hoped and more, and I will be upset to say goodbye. I still don't believe there's any roadgoing car out there that matches the Scirocco for performance, practicality (for its size anyway) and, especially, style.

I hope to keep a close eye on the forum even once my ownership has ceased. Enjoy your cars, everyone, and look after them - they are classics of the future!

Tom

You'll come back.
Just wait until you're jonesing for a fun drive. Reving the engine out, flat upshifts until the braking distance is at bare minimum.
My hands are shaking from withdrawal.
