Scirocco Central

Hey guys,

I am looking at the Scirrocco here, which has its engine replaced 5k km ago. After searching several threads it seems post-12 models should be free of the cylinder issue. My question is, if the engine has been replaced 5k ago, does it mean that the new engine should be free of the cylinder problem? Apart from DSG, are there other obvious things I should be wary of while looking at this Scirocco?

Within the Scirocco community it’s widely regarded that the petrol 160PS engine should be avoided at all costs. Some owners have no issues at all but it’s by far the most problematic engine available in the Scirocco. A few owners have had multiple engines replaced on the same car.
