Has anyone seen any on TV yet?

not one but I think its been a long time since vw advertised on tv I mean they didn't even go to the British motor show so I don't think advertising on tv is on their list of priorities

there was the golf one with the song made of car noises, that wasnt too long ago was it?

edit: and the Passat CC one with the guy getting sprayed by water at the end

do they need to advertise on tv given the volumes, plenty of press and bill boards and they do seem to be selling, someone had a link to a german ad with the policewoman, given the uk nanny state would no doubt be banned

oh yeah im not saying they do need to advertise, just be nice to see one, plus i havent seena single bill board or magazine ad (except reviews and tests etc)

There is a Polo advert with a confident singing dog.

The Scirocco is advertised on The Guardian website.

As crazy as it sounds, but less advertising will mean potentially less buyers. Which in turn might make the car more desirable.... Or am I nuts

Either way I'm quite happy that its not been splashed all over the press, I quite liked the new mini when it first appered but now I am sick of the site of it, films, adverts on TV (mini adventure), newspapers, magazines, billboards internet etc!!!! And the fact there is about 12 parked down my road. Mind you saying that you guys are probably sick of me harping on about Honda, but their adverts are always great (the impossible dream)

I'm guessing they know early sales will be among people who are real car buffs who know it exists. Once that target market is taken (6-8 months maybe), then you can move in with TV ads to pick up people who have no idea what it is.

There was a huge Scirocco billboard poster put up right by where I park for the gym - the day AFTER I put my order in ! Spooky

In the Manchester area every other Bill-Board has the Scirocco on it.
