Purchase advice for newby

Hi everyone - began used car shopping, hadn't considered a scirocco but then test drove one and fell in love.
I'm looking at 2010 - 2012 models <£10k, up to 60k, bluemotion (for the fuel economy without effecting acceleration) and 140bhp (because my licence doesn't need 170).
Not knowing much about mechanics I'll be getting an inspection done before buying but wanted to ask scirocco owners if there is anything in particular I should be looking out for (good or bad).
Many thanks and look forward to being part of the forum once an owner.
Douglas

Hi
Welcome to the forum

There's a guide in Evo and 'sticky' on here as to what to look out for which is helpful

Life is too short to get to the slower car, buy the faster one

Good luck

Hi - my first time on this forum - I can't find what you mean by Evo and 'sticky', can you point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Douglas

Stay away from the 1.4 petrols (2009-2012?) They can crack pistons -> new engine or high costs
