It tells you in the service booklet and you can get the time and Distance to the next service on the MFD under the vehicle status menu.

There are basically 2 service regimes available.

1. Time & Distance - 10k miles or 12 months whichever occurs first.
2. longlife regime - variable up to maximum of 19k miles / 24 months.

Cars service timer uses kilometres converted to miles so is based on 15.000km and 30,000km which converts to 9,300 miles and 18,600 miles.

Brake fluid is 3 years and then every 2 years thereafter.

Cambelt is 120k miles or 5 years whichever occurs first.

I was aware they had went digital with some models but didn't realise they had with new Sciroccos. I thought they would still give you a booklet to advise of service schedules as without it you really are reliant on the dealers, which in my experience is not a good thing, as the majority are clueless.

Sorry to jump in here but if I'm taking a scirocco on a 2 year lease would it be better for me to setup a longlife servicing plan?

The cars are set up for longlife regime from the factory. As long as the lease company don't stipulate annual servicing, then I would say leave it on longlife regime.

I should add that if you you buy a 2 year service plan from VW / Dealer it will be based on Time and Distance and should include 2 services, 10k / 12mth and 20k / 24mth

As with most things VAG make it more complicated than it needs to be
