RCD510 media in from Android

Post by Welchy74 »

Hi. I've tried linking my Galaxy S7 edge to my Scirocco RCD510 via the media cable. I've done it via a genuine VW media to USB then used the Samsung lead from the USB to my phone.
My phone has asked me what action to take and even after clicking 'use as media player' the head unit is giving me an error of 'device not recognised'.
Is it OK using the 2 cables as I have or do I need a direct media to mini USB cable?
I've tried googling and there's mention of firmware updates and lots of other tech lingo that I didn't really understand.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

You want to select USB Storage, if it gives you that option. The headunit sees the phone as a USB memory stick.

My android Sony works that way when I plug it in and not use Bluetooth.
