Can anyone recommend a good site to download V13 maps or which is the best seller on ebay or even someone want to sell their copy to me?
I just get spammed when I tried two sites and they were even all multiple rar files

Got some V12 maps going cheap (free). I've changed to a my15 car so got Discover media now instead of RNS510 hence haven't upgraded to V13 and V12 is spare. Bought mine from ebay, had a search in buying history to see where from but the seller is no longer registered so no help.

The threshold for PM's isn't huge so reply to this saying thanks and you'll be almost there. A few more random shit posts and you'll be away.

My RNS510 says map version 8117. How does that relate to V12/13?

Version 8117 is V11 I think. V12 is 8195 and mine is version 8348 which is V13.

I have recently downloaded and installed v13 maps on my RNS510, works fine. Best thing was it kept all my POIs, so I still have my speed camera data.

Anyway - I bought more DVDs than I need, so I have quite a lot of spare double layered DVD +Rs that might go to waste. I am happy to copy the maps for someone and send it out, PM me so we can arrange something.

Also, something to note - PLEASE ensure your RNS510 can accept DVD +Rs, as I couldnt get any -Rs, and I know the unit can be a bit funny

I have an RNS315 is it still the same software used? If they can even read DVD rewrites ..

RNS315 won't update with RNS510 maps. First up, they only have a cd player in the RNS315 and RNS510 maps are on dvd. Second, the maps updates on the RNS315 are via a "Single Use" SD card bought from a reliable source (like the main dealers). Once used in a machine it becomes locked to that machine only, so you can't buy it and then copy it or pass it on when used. If buying second hand, you're buying something which is worthless as it won't work.

Can anyone kind enough to send me the map update or link to a map update? I have seen a few online but I am not sure which is suitable for mine and I definitely don't want to screw it up.

You have to be above firmware 3xxx I think. Do you know what firmware your RNS510 is running?

Maps will install on any unit with any firmware version, as long as the firmware hasn't been "modified" to reduce the size of the maps partition on the hard drive.

On my RNS, I have changed the partition for the maps though - so maybe that's why I needed to upgrade my firmware. All works fine anyway

Where did you get yours from? I'll check mine later when I get home.

Maps. I'm not too bothered about firmware if it's not required to update the map.

You can update the firmware on earlier units with 2*** firmware to get the new version of POI (Points Of Interest). You need to go up to a 3*** version or higher. Or you can just install the maps on the lower firmwares and not get the use of the POI functionality.

Anyone got a link to where I can buy a map update for this version? Or can I trust these downloads on http://www.my-gti.com/3868/volkswagen-r ... repository?

I only want to update the map as mine is so old now it doesn't recognise a lot of postcodes, appreciate any help with links for V12/V13 maps!
