Colour MFD retro fit

hi all just after a bit of information on colour 3d MFD can you retro fit these into an oringnal R clocks and it will work or do you need different clocks to do this mod

3D is the best very rare on a Scirocco, but I think you can opted as factory option on the newer 2015 facelift models.
2D colour is also quite rare on a Scirocco, either ones are hard to come by.
