Is this engine 'tick' normal? Receiving mixed opinions. scirocco R 11 plate on 91k. Seller assured me it was normal, reading various forums it would appear the engines are quite 'ticky' but to this extent?

No this doesn''t sound normal. Get it checked where this sound is coming from quick.

So are the engines not meant to make any sort of noise like this? Went to see another one yesterday and it sounded similar?

The quality of your phone/camera will maybe let it sound worse then it really is. To me it sounds more like a diesel engine. But you can drive to a vw garage to let them listen to it, probably they will do it for free.

Yeah in reality i'm sure it wasn't this prominent!! Possibly, will have to ring them and see!
