Hi everyone,

I want to have my new R remapped but obviously it's still under warranty, now I know it's forbidden to have it done but how easy and often do the dealerships recognise the remap?

Anyone have any advice/experience in this area?

Thanks for any help

Dan

I wouldnt say its forbidden but if you need to make a warranty claim with regards to engine problems then the dealership, if they are clued in, can check the coding/diagnostics to determine if the car is mapped or not

Its the risk you take but IMO the chances of the car suffering like turbo failure, engine management failure or something like that are quite slim.

I would presonally stay away from cheap local maps and would go for a reputable company like Revo or APR where you know the R&D that has gone into the map will be done with a fine tooth comb.

First of all, I would get the car fully serviced before hand to reduce the risk of any potential failures when the car comes under a greater load.

Really appreciate that, very helpful, I was planning the apr one with awesome gti, with the car being new it's not due a service for a long time.

Thanks again for the reply

Yes, 20% off.

Taken from another VAG forum;

"From January 1st 2016 until January 31st 2016, We are offering 20% off all APR Remaps.
As usual, our APR Remaps all come with rolling road power runs and must be carried out in our workshop in Manchester.

To make a booking, give us a call on 0161 776 0777 (option 1)."
