I have a DSG and when it's in D mode (changes early) and you get heavy with the right foot, it makes a lovely "parp" sound.

I just wondered what casued it??

Hi geoff,

this is a trait of DSG, my golf did it too. I think its basically that when the box goes for a gear change, because the change is so quick and you do not move your throttle foot, the car momentarily cuts the fuelling/ignition so any fuel left in the system gets burnt in the exhaust (something like that anyway)

The "parp" sound particularly good with a MIlltek.
