Sport Mode

Is it me imagining things, or does the driver seat 'firm up' when you select sport mode on the suspension ?

Sport mode in the DCC firms the suspension and increases the weight of the steering.

You are imagining things...
From memory... it firms the dampers up, the steering and sharpens the throttle ... I think that is it, and I'm not even sure on the throttle tbh.

As far as I'm aware, it has no effect on the throttle response on the Scirocco.

It's your brain thinking it effects the throttle.

I've just been looking at schematics of the DCC and I think you are right ...
