Hollow sounding passenger door

Post by norco »

Hello!

As subject, I take it that's the same experience for everyone? Driver door sounds solid when I close it. Passenger door sounds much lighter, almost empty. Weight saving by VW?? Just wondering :)

Mine is definitely more hollow sounding :) Ah well, another oddity to go with the erratic performance :)

have the car had a repair done on the door? I am asking because i sell a product called sound deadening pads. they are heavy asphalt like pads you stick on the inside panel of the door, floor and boot, to absorb sound. I have sold less since the onset of the recession because bodyshops are scaling back and often won;t stick them back on, after they had done the repair. As the area is covered by door trims and carpets, the public won't know about it.
