Cloth or leather interior?!
Hi all,
I've been offered a full set of heated leathers and centre console, door cards.
I've had mixed opinions from people about leather seats
Would changing the seats too leather increase the value of my rocco?
Or is it more personal preference?
Thank you beforehand!
Luke

2k seems steep as an extra on the new car. More of a personal preference because you're not getting a return on it when you go to sell it. Could be wrong. Just my view

Do not think it will add much value on resale but would probably make it more saleable privately. I think leather is a personal choice tbh. If you like leather go for it.

Optional extra's always seem to be the same, when you are buying a car (new), you are told that these will add value when you come to sell, but in reality, I think it just adds mainly to the desirability of the car and will make it easier to sell. The monetary return on options is always very poor considering the initial outlay.

Agreed. It seems that people nowadays are happy to pay less and go without the extra luxuries i.e. leather seats, sat nav, etc. hence why people who attempt to flog their car at a higher price due to the added extras always end up dropping the price in order to actually sell the car. Logically you would think that extras would increase the resale value but realistically they just make the car more sought after but not sought after enough to pay extra cash for. HOWEVER, if you love the leather look then just buy it now and sell it when you come to sell the car and replace it with cloth interior you should make most if not all your money back.skippy wrote:Optional extra's always seem to be the same, when you are buying a car (new), you are told that these will add value when you come to sell, but in reality, I think it just adds mainly to the desirability of the car and will make it easier to sell. I try to avoid leather seats myself. I think they look quite tatty when they get worn and shiny. Plus for ethical reasons, although the wheel is leather I like to try and keep it as minimal as possible so it'd put me off buying a car personally.

Nowadays, they use cheap leather that will stretch and worn in no time. Soon you will get an M shaped bum indent.
I would go for those seat specialist who make bespokes leather seats. You can choose different types of leather too. I remember a place in the UAE who can offer you a unique python skin for your steering wheel, gear nob and handbrake. How cool is that!
