Door handles

Post by janherko »

hey guys,

anyone can update me on what is the OEM number of the door handles in Scirocco?
Mine creek as hell when slightly pushed and even resonate when the bass is a little louder...do you think it´s due to wearing (I´m MY09)?

Thanks a lot

Mine creek as well (also an 09), but seems more susceptible in warm weather. I don't know if new handles would make much difference, don't think the handles have changed in design/material on later models. You would have to contact the dealer for the OEM part number.

yep, the plastics in Rocco just drive me crazy...I mean the material feels pretty solid but putting it firmly together is another cup of tea...
I just took a ride in my friend`s 2008 BMW 335xi only to find out there`s no rattle or creek whatsoever...is that really a case with lazy Portuguese staff when assembling Roccos or what?
funny is that once I strongly press the door handles bass stops resonating...
hmmm, I`ll try to ask my dealer about this.

anyway, after many attempts of sorting out my tailgate rattle (multiple adjustments of bump stops to no avail) I`ve finally figure out where the real problem is...
it`s the left upper tailgate trim section (when opened) creeking as hell when pressed with exactly the same bothering noise I can hear when driving over some bumps...can anyone point me to how to remove that trim? It looks like the inner rubber cushions are either not in the right place there or worn out or something...

I have 2012 and my handles creek mate, seems like another poor design/build quality issue!

Is there some way to remove the door handles, disassemble them (they consist of 2 parts?) and put inside some creek-deadening material?

I did this and pretty much resolved any noises and they feel more solid.

I used this stuff cut down between any parts that could rub:

And a guide to removal:
