Post by ROODY »

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum as couple weeks ago i bought my Rocco GT 2.0 TSI 2010 which i am in love with! as i make alot of phone calls handsfree is a big thing for me and as this didnt come with it standard i was having a look at the Kufatec Fiscon handsfree kit, and just wanted some of your opinions as to wether it is good piece of kit and wether i should get that or maybe a different make/ model of handsfree you could suggest, and also how easy it was to install and so on..

Many Thanks

the MFD is the little screen on your dashboard, behind the steering wheel:

My carkit is only for the dashboard with a red screen, not the white version.
The kit is complete with cables, manuals, et cetera. I can also talk you through the process of installing and share my experiences.
Besides being a carkit, it's also an addon to the default MFD/MFA, showing stuff like digital speed, boost pressure and oil temperature on the display.

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm looking at getting the Fiscon Basic Plus for my RCD510 on my 09 Roc. I have a lowline red MFD (The left dash out of the two dashboards) and from what i've read that you'll need to use VCDS to connect up the Fiscon unit on white MFD's.

Would i need VCDS to hook up lowline red MFDs to the Fiscon unit? I could easily fit the unit myself but the VCDS option would seem a bit of ballache for get the job done.

Thanks in advance

Hi
yes you will need vcds to code the unit in otherwise the car won't know its there to use it.

Perfect, thanks Trix. Any cheaper option of coding it rather than VCDS? I don't own VCDS so not sure if it's worth the DIY method & i could just pay a local car kit firm who have it to sort it.

i'd be seeing if there is someone locally with it who could do the coding bit for you, try the local vw club or as you're in manchester see if awesome might do it quickly for you?

Good call, im getting cruise control fitted at Awesome next Saturday for £165 (bargain!) so maybe i could tie it then? Does the bluetooth have to be fitted first before VCDS can activate it? Or can i get it activated by them and then fit it at a later date?
