Hello!
Soooo I was driving home today then suddenly the drivers side window dropped to the "open the door level", dropped about 1,5cm. Thought the window was acting up. I have several times had trouble with the windows freezing, and having to reset them. This time however this does not help. I have tried as per the roccopedia and my own techniques!
But the weird thing is that it works just perfect when I lock the car with either the key or the button inside the car. So there is no issue with the window mechanics. I´m a bit baffled by this and why it happened suddenly while driving...
What do you guys think?

Re: Very strange window issue
Could possibly be a sticking exterior door handle
My passenger window would not close fully if my partner had got in the car (she's under strict instructions not to slam the door)
I found that her being so gentle closing the door that the outside handle didn't always return to its starting position hence the window would not come back up. I applied a bit of lubricant (to the handle) and all has been fine since.
Might be worth a look...

Re: Very strange window issue
I've had a fumy thing happen with the windows dropping and going back up and dropping again. The only way to stop it was to turn off the ingnition and re-start. Its only done it the once though.
Also had it lock and unlock the doors every time I stopped and started off again. Just the once.
I put these things down to electrical gremlins. Provided it doesn't keep happening then I would just forget about it.

Re: Very strange window issue
The ignition barrel could be on its way out. Does moving from position 0 to I feel a bit 'loose'?
Re: Very strange window issue
Now to add to the weird part, the "fault" has corrected itself.. Works like normal now. Parked the car, went in for about one hour, came back out and when I got in the window went to the right position. Must have been a sensor issue of some sort. It´s plausible that the handle could have been sticking, weather has been changing a lot lately from -12 to +2. Going to check about that ignition barrel.
@Carlpea: Have you had any issues with the ignition barrel?
Thanks for all your tips!

I've read on here that the ignition barrel can fail. Mine does feel a bit loose but I haven't done anything about it as yet because the car is working ok... for the moment...
