Hey guys.
I have a problem with the car and looking for a bit of advice. I was traveling home from down south and as I joined the a34. I went to over take another car and as I approached 60 I had a warning light start flashing ( the yellow coil) and a messages displayed on the centre screen ( internal engine fault) at this point I had no response from the throttle. Manged to cost it in to the nearest layby and call RAC. He put it on the diag and it came up with. Turbo/supercharger under boost status intermittent. The mechanic reckons its the valve in the turbo sticking. Does this sound correct? I have had a quote for a replacement valve at £180 all in, does that sound about right?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Cheers James

Mine had the exact same issue but an engine restart sorted it - until it happened again that is.
Took it to the dealer yesterday and they said it was the turbo vacuum that needed replacing. They are doing it under warranty today. I'll let you know how it goes and how much they would normally charge for it.
Good luck in getting it sorted!

Got a call from VW - my car is fixed - would have cost £230 for parts labour and vat apparently.

Mine is exactly the same. Turn of and restart and it's fine untill it cuts out again. I've had the DPF light come on also now it's cut out that much.
Thanks for letting me know. Machanic is coming to look at mine this afternoon

Hope he sorts it out for you.
How many miles are on the clock? Mine has just done 60k... just wondering if it's a common fault with the Scirocco.
I've got a 4 hour round trip to do today so I hope it was what they said it was and it's fixed now!

It's funny you should say that, it has 69k and the first time it happened was when I was coming home from Poole in Dorset to Sheffield. 4 hour drive down and 4 hour back.

Mine always happened on gentle accelerations - like resuming 70 using cruise control after dropping to 65 etc - never under hard acceleration.
Anyway - today's journey went ok.
Hope you get yours sorted as well.

That was exactly when mine cut out. Just had the Machanic out and he said it was the turbo actuator that was not holding any pressure. He showed me using his pressures gauge. He's pricing me parts up tomorrow and will get me a price.
Glad you got yours sorted. Let me know how you get on. Sounds like a common fault on this engine at similar millage. Safe trip mate
