Removing the strut...

Since the previous problem I encountered when I struck the car I still haven't been able to ascertain quite what is causing the adverse camber. It was suggested that it could be one of two remaining possibilities, the strut or the hub carrier. I am going to remove the strut and place a right angle against it to see if it is damaged in anyway.

Prior to doing this I had a couple of questions if anyone could help on these points:

Q1. Do I need to remove spring to remove the front strut? If so do you need to compress the spring to remove it? (I have VW racing springs on the car)

Q2. What multi spline tool is required to remove strut from carrier?
