AVRCP Support - Which BT Module?

Post by tinkythomas »

Hi,

I have A2DP working fine with my RNS510 + 7P6 035 730B BT module but this combination doesn't support AVRCP. I really would like to have the metadata and remote control using my iPhone. I have googled and have not found much info but I did read that BT module 7P6 035 730F is needed to support AVRCP? Can anyone confirm or deny this or perhaps know which module is needed?

Regards,

I have one of the 5N0 units (i think!), and through VCDS you can flip a bit to make it show the artist name and play/pause.. problem is it doesn't seem to work fully, so I've had to turn it off and settle for the basic A2DP with greyed out buttons and no track name..

This would be far better than the standard A2DP, if it worked properly. I can't believe it was left half implemented as it seems

Thanks maq, didn't realise you could enable this using VCDS. How much and where did you get your VCDS, from Ross-Tech? I don't really want to invest in VCDS though if I'm not able to code the BT module to enable AVRCP, not sure if the module I have is capable?

Well, like I said whilst on the 5N0 unit it appears to be partially supported, it doesn't work right. I would seek further advice to see if any other solutions are out there, as I had to turn off AVRCP to make my unit useable :(

Would love this function to work as it works very well with my kenwood standard head unit in my other car.. How hard can it be!
